LET'S EXPAND EVOLUTION!

Mutants in the Now reintroduced animal anthropomorphic action to modern role-playing. But the possibilities of life outstrip any single tome, opening up whole new vistas for players and gamemasters alike.

With 144 new species and breeds, increasing the total to over 275 total animal options, there’s more mutants than ever! With genemods, you can step beyond what nature intended. And the introduction of cryptids, mythical beasts, and Mokumon inject fresh strangeness into the array of animals.

New options for character creation, such as:

  • Human-born mutants, humans who take on bestial mutations.
  • Wild, random mutations, from bioluminescence to thagomizers.
  • Age rules let you play a fledgling foal or a wizened walrus!
  • (Extra) ordinary humans; They aren’t even mutants at all, weird.

But there’s more: new combat styles, new psionic powers, new skills,  new equipment, and more percentile tables than you can roll a die at!

Lastly, villains get their turn with a extended section: the robotic, mutant-catching minions of Proteus, Inc., the secret ninja tricks of Atama-Ryu, the post-apocalyptic future of Mutant Earth, and the all-new psychic menace of Sal Sidney and the Doom Toons!

It's time for mutants to be a little extra.

IT'S THE NEXT MUTATION.

Mutants in the Now might qualify as rules heavy? At the very least, it qualifies as awesome.
- Tsiklani
Mutants in the Now is great, it has just enough math to make you like 85% sure you did everything right, but then you can actually play it, whereas TMNT&OS is just kind of moving numbers around until you're tired and need a nap, then it doesn't work.
- Nemo
yeah mutants in the now is dope and next is gonna be amazing
- Pixelscum
God I want to play this game again.

I'm now going to try and run everything in Julian Kay's Mutants In the Now instead of 5e.

I love the idea! It sounds really interesting. Any chanceof a few more community copies being added? Its totally cool if theres not. I'll save up for a few weeks to grab it otherwise. Id be happy to write a review. Hope you have a nice day!

(+1)

Amazing art, cool possibilities for customisation of one's character, I wish you the best, author :]

Saw the tweet, missed the opportunity 😕

Well all the copies are already claimed and I wasn't able to get a single one, guess I'll have to wait until next week

Where is the community copy?

(+1)(-5)

Entitled much?

(+4)(-1)

Sorry, just really eager, and sometimes I don't know how these things work

(+5)

It's okay. Right now I'm estimating a November release, I want to make sure any Kickstarter fulfillment hitches are handled first and for things to slow down. After that, they should see recurring releases.

(+4)(-1)

Oh well, just really wanted to make a character in honor of World Animal Day which is tomorrow, but there's always next year

(+3)(-4)

This website has community copies as a built in feature. If you're mad someone is asking maybe go to DriveThru and you won't have to worry about it.

(+1)(-3)

This website does, in fact, not have community copies as a built in feature. It has the capacity to add them through the backend rewards tab which someone in the community figured how to game them to provide community copies and spread that information around.

(+2)(-1)

The capacity to add them is more than DriveThru has. My point stands. You've done nothing but prove my point, now go troll someone else.

The excitement about Next is appreciated, and I'm heartened by the defense, but community copies are live now, and this isn't really the place to have a big debate over their validity or demands for such. If we could leave it here, I'd appreciate it.
